I’ve partecipated to the EspritIII project n. 6095 CHARADE. The aim of the CHARADE project was to set up a development platform, based on a modular architecture and on powerful programming paradigms. That platform has allowed the integration of different knowledge and reasoning models in systems supporting individuals and organizations to manage complex real life situations. On the top of this platform we have developed a Decision Support System for planning and control in forest fire emergencies. In IRST we have developed the Intervention Planning module that is based on advanced AI based techniques for Case Based Reasoning and Temporal Reasoning. The functionalities of this module are mainly related to the planning and scheduling of resources for fire fighting. The demonstrator runs on a Sun spark machine and will make use of the Informix DBMS, the URIAH Geographic Information System, the SPOKE object oriented language, the LISP language and the C++ language.
